G16 Extractors

Hey all

Hoping someone might be know.
Are G16a 16v and G16b 16v headers the same?

Don't worry about G16A/G16B, the only thing that matters is 16 or 8 valve.

Next question
I have scored some second hand extractors in good nick but they have the 3 bolt flange welded to them and my truck has a 2 bolt cone type. If I cut both flanges off and just weld them together, should I add a flexy as it will be losing the 2 sprung joints on the down pipe?

g16a = J.D.M vehicle
G16b = rest of world.
