Toyota Temp Gauge Mod

Post by bob_or_jim »

Thought I would add a link to the Temp Gauge Mod as on the Surf ASN site. Had a little trouble finding it so people may find it useful. Links for the parts required are below (grand total of $1)

Cheers

tho with a engines that are known to have overheating and head cracking issues i would throw out the stock temp gauge and go fit an aftermarket unit (i prefer digital as its easy to read exact numbers) with alarm output. that way you don't have to watch the temp gauge like a hawk.

Yeah both are easy to do, Im just not a fan of extra guages when there is 1 there already. Pyro is a good addition though. Its a bit like the hondas you see getting round with the monster tach. The 1 in the dash works just as good :D

A warning light is a good idea though, especially if other people use your vehicle as well.

Not yet, was looking for the info to do it and thought ide post it up. Had the Prado (90 series) dash out today. Seems they work a little diff to the older dashs. With a little more playing round I should figure out how to do it though

I have done it to a 185 - works well - found the thermostat was not closing causing slow warm up that was being hidden
