Custom sump for 1uzfe in 84 hilux surf

Post by hiluxsurfer »

I'm in need of a custom sump as my front sump is in the way of my crossover steering. Has anyone else had this problem and can you reccomend anyone for custom made sumps? Cheers.

I got one for the v6 in my hilux from http://www.asroilpans.com/ in aussie when I did my high steer. They're use to doing oil pans and pickups for hiluxes so would be very surprised if it's not a common one for them.

Jono from JRC does custom 1uz sumps, and he also modifies standard ones.

That shinny bit in the middle is a stainless sump he made for his 1uz race truck :D

And this is the lx470 sump he modded for my 1uz

failing that I have a modified mid sump here that may clear your steering.

The only problem is Jono is too good! He always has too much work on when I call him.

Yeah, but he sometimes gets brakes in the big jobs while he's waiting for parts to come in and he can fill those gaps with small jobs.

I managed to find a company in south africa of all places and they do a really nice rear sump

Am waiting to hear back from them as to wether they can send it over to me as our exchange rate with south africa is pretty good at the moment.
