Auto trans in escudo

My 95 escudo v6 has started to make a rumbling noise from the transmission when I put it in drive or reverse and am just stopped still, Eg at traffic lights. It stop once you start moving. Its still going into gear easy and runs well and feels right but just this noise. someone suggested it just needs an oil change but dont no.

Sounds like a bearing gone somewhere in the front of the trans. You can try an oil change as a first attempt. Have you checked the fluid level at all? if so how full and what colour? Also how many km's on the clock?

Trans fluid colour:

Translucent red- Good
Dull red- might need a change
Black/brown- defiantly change. (Gearbox might also be stuffed)
