I've been working on the underside of our caravan and find that giving it a scrub with a wire brush, then use CRC rust converter on it and wait for it to set, then paint it with POUR15, then I've used a 2pak top coat

Overkill for a truck, you could just rust kill and then put a top coat on as the rust converter forms a primer.

It goes a bloody long way. Paint it on, don't spray it or you will kill the gun.

Remove any loose rust etc, liberaly apply any rust kill/converter, then paint with a hard wearing paint.

When doing my Caravan I found a Hammerrite product that is a converter, bonder, primer and top coat in one. Was about $50 for 1L I think, was a bit jubious but gave it a go and now its hard its rock hard and no sign of the surface rust coming back through. Single pack brush on, and man does it stick to hands/shirt whenh painting upside down under a caravan.

I will use the stuff again when my toy get a rebuild. Prob paint the trailer in it too.
Toy - Zuk chassis tub, hilux 4.88 axles and transfer, Nissan CA18DE motor and auto trans, sc12 supercharger, 32 10'5 simex, twin motor 8274 custom freespool. Well the parts are all there in various corners of the shed

To be 100% sure of its removal, I'd sand blast it with one of those super cheap gravity feed hand held blasters. They eat the sand and make a mess, but ok for wee jobs
If you break it... build it stronger.
