Pajero conversion
Pajero conversion
Hi. I have a 1993 Pajero with the 3.5 v6. I want to swap the motor to a commodore v6. 3800cc I that the engine loom ecu auto box and the bighorn transfer case to do it but just wondered if anyone knew what drive shafts to use or do I have to make them from scratch. I'm having to many electrical issues with the mitsi v6 and they are not that easy to work on it around. Thanks

Hi. If I knew I would not have this problem lol.
Dragged this thing out of a paddock put a second hand ecu in it because last one was corroded badly. Still has no spark so tested signal from crank and cam sensors that was all ok so fitted a new ignighter. It went after that. Just pinked on hard acceleration. Now it won't start and is kicking back on the starter like too advanced timing and filling the cylinders with fuel. Doing the same as it was when I pulled it from the padock. Getting frustrating. I was planning on the commodore conversation because I have everything bar driveshafts. Is this a good option.

Sounds like a lot of hard work to fix the problem, why not just invest all the time and money you would spend doing a Holden conversion into fixing the problems with the Mitsubishi engine. You are not going to Gain anything by fitting that engine. Have you checked what fault codes, of any, the vehicle has at the moment? Good place to start. Wat about cam timing, pay to check that, and triple quadruple make sure that the cam/crank sensors are good as they can cau issues as you have explained.

Wont the izuzu transfere case put the front driveshaft on the wrong side?

Just had a look and yes it will. Thanks for that. Anyway I have found the issue. It was a crank sensor wire. I checked it all last week but must of overlooked it.
