MANZ rollcage specs?

Post by shortylux »

Where do I find MANZ specs? ORANZ refers to them in thier rules, but I can't find the gosh darn specs.

Yes I have searched. Can't believe they are hard to find.

Cheers for any help.

Have a look at http://www.motorsport.org.nz/content/sa ... protection

There is a couple of documents that should give you the info you need.

I have already looked at that page. I can see info about when.why they will test materials, welds etc. But nothing there saying use this size pipe, make it this shape, you are allowed this many bends here etc etc.

I'm stumped.

They main reason I ask is that I seem to recall only being allowed 4 bends in the main hoop, but cant remember which rules or class it applied to, or if it was 4 or 6 or 10 bends. Basically I want 6 bends in my main hoop, just trying to figure out if it legal.

44mm? Farrk.

Well I'm not using the trials specs, seeing as I'm not building a tank

MANZ dont seem to want me to know what is required, so sod 'em

ORANZ are easy to find and seems I have a fairly free reign :)
The only thing they say that I'm not 100% on is
A main hoop positioned behind the crew seats and mounted to the vehicle floor (to current MNZ Specifications) or chassis

I don't know what MNZ say about mountings but the ORANZ rules go on to describe/define how I can mount it so I guess stick to those and all will be well. I hope.

You have to have a minimum surface area on the feet and min 3mm thick . under the new rules you have to plate the floor / sills before you weld the boxes to them if you are making boxes up , and also side bars can only be a maximum %50 of total cage height , the front bars cannot be within you cva and you have to send all your pics away etc to get it homologated , also mesuringthe shrink on all bends etc , pretty much will need a pro tools bender or simular ,
