been putting off the need to clean the injectors for a few years now and still I am nowhere close to having the stupid amounts of money required to clean them
BUT......................
I have been told of a cheap trick involving pure injector cleaner into a new fuel filter and start her, injectors are cleaned and away you go
thoughts please

I did that on my Safari and it does work, one in the new filter and another one in the tank, seems to clear and clean them well, was a big cloud of black smoke when I did it too.

If you have left them for years them doing anything but replacing them will not work. Once they get beyond a certain gummed up stage they have to be replaced.
They also need to be checked to make sure the tips/nozzles are spraying correctly and not out of one side etc making your piston hot one side and cold the other leading to PISTON failure etc.

two stroke oil is good for lubing the pump and quieting the injectors as well as keeping them clean but if the injectors are dirty/worn then it will only quieten them down(alot).
[quote="DaveM"]I've run 200:1 in my Safari's for the last few years.[/quote Just don't use the synthetic or flash race oils. The cheapest stuff is the best. I average about 300mls a tank. It doesn't have to be exact but 200:1 is the recomended amount
