PeterVahry wrote:It's amazing the time spent debating about something that the government has done that won't affect your four wheeling... while there is the question of the various DoC CMS that most certainly will affect your recreation!

If everyone is hoping that someone else will put forward comments to DoC about what's in the draft CMS's, then you are probably very wrong.

Debate the issues of the three current CMS drafts and be aware of options to have input into the writing of other drafts yet to come around the country.

Anyone anywhere can comment on a draft CMS.... let something through on the first ones and it will be hard to counter similar things in the future.

No offence Pete, but its more amazing to me that your carrying on about something that has nothing to do with the title of this thread! I sujest starting a thread on what your talking about, and spell it out so dummies like me know what your talking about.

Taz"

Why is it all on the WOF man? Fark that. Pass at the time is pass at the time. The rules are clear. It is on the owner to make sure everything is fine after that. Always has been.[/quote]

its on the wof man because (at the time of inspection) that is his job, as a wof inspector you accept that responsibility when you accept the role. Yes a pass at the time is a pass at the time I agree, but how many ppl out there don't take responsibility after the wof is isued? id say most. clearly I wouldn't be refering to us lot on here so please don't start jumping up and down saying im refering to you cos im not :) It would be rediculus to say the safty of a vehicle is perminatly on the wof man, and I don't believe ive insinuated that at any point :?:

I guess the title is not as appealing as that of this thread, but hopefully some will have a look and realise the importance to future vehicle access to DoC managed public lands.

Access is only any good if your vehicle hasnt been stolen ...perhaps NZ4WD Ass should put some effort into getting the cops to do something about it like Combined Clubs is.
But as the problem is mainly in Canterbury & they dont have many members down here they simply dont give a toss.

Cant wait to finish my rod. Will be a 2015 (ish) 1979 Landcruiser on a 1980 chassis and because it is first registered I get three years and then yearly until I fall off the 13 year (or what ever) scale into 6 mth land.

Mind you it will be complianced / certed / checked / rechecked / etc which is more than a lot of "new cars" get now.

Just got to finish it before the rules change again...  :? :(

It might be good for a laugh but possibly it's time to rethink.
"address public meetings attempting to force the public to accept proposed lvvta lift regulations and authority cards"

Check what the LVVTA wrote in their Dec newsletter. The eventual outcome could be hard to swallow.

The only thing hard to swallow would be if NZ4WD Ass got the right to make people have to join an organisat then charge those same individuals large sums of money annually to allow them to drive there certifed & completely road legal vehicles. Something the wise amongst us will never allow to happen

thats the bit right there that fcuks me off, this forum with the wide coverage it has accross the country is the ideal medium for the NZFWDA to use to get information relevant to four wheel driving accross to not only its membership but the 4wd community as a whole to keep everyone in the loop with whats going on, whats going to go on in the future, whats already gone on and all that shit but because a small bunch of people who seem to have their noses out of joint over the proposed auth cards like to keep making continous snide attacks and windup's onto anyone posting on behalf of or representing the NZFWDA trying to drag everything into a shitfight the NZFWDA wont post any further information or reply to anything in the public forums on here. I dont really have any problem with anyones arguements for or against the proposed auth cards and to be honest I'm a bit two minded about the whole thing myself but I personaly weigh it up as the lesser evil, an auth card for lifts or no lift, but that aside coz this isnt a thread about auth cards, all these minorities on here have done is made the NZFWDA withdraw from this forum so now we all miss out on the flow of valuable information about our 4WDing future and the forum looks like a bunch of imature bickering kids that are only in it for a scrap, what the fcuk have they acheived in their campaign against auth cards by behaving like this other than closing off a communication channel for NZFWDA updates, information and discussion so now me and everyone else misses out

It's not that easy, there are not always affliated clubs nearby. I think it is a shame if info cannot be shared on a public medium such as this site, whether it is assn stuff or the recreation as a whole, we are all here with the same intention!

Can an individual join the Assn?
