Chev s/blk into GY60 nissan safari Auto?

Post by pchatz »

Have been lookin at Mark's kits online to use for a repower of diesel TD42 nonturbo-AUTO nissan safari. Want to s/blk chev in place of diesel.
Have had several people say that the autos dont like the conversion, and that the computer needs recalibrating and even then , has probs?
Been told that manual is way to go, so if I changed truck to manual, would the diesel diff ratios be no good?
Has anyone been down this road,or know if its a dud route? lol
Its beginning to sound like I just need a new truck, but this body's a mint one,and I am attached to the truck.
Any advice? cheers, Paul

if you can find an auto out of petrol saf then that would be the way to go

the deisel autos are set up for the low down torque and kill the petrol motors

what about running a chev auto with M/A to the saf trans box??

all the diffs are the same (best im awere for the straiht 6 motors)

what motor are you looking at? seems the ls1/ls2 is the way to go v the old school 350

i reackon youd be better off with the vh41 or vh45, cheaper, more fuel effician, and apparently theyre easyto mate upto a safari gearbox.
