drive backwards or slowly foward every no again does a massive clunk and feel it though the floor pulled diff apart nothing in there would it be transfur case????

have you checked the hanger bearing on the drivesharft? give it a wiggle...

my terrano done this a couple of times while going along the milford road.

could never figure it out, maybe it was a transfer case mount or something perished, but its gone now..

i had a clunk or bang in my old 96 lux it it turned out to be the center pin on the front spring had broken and it was moving on the diff,
just another thing to check :wink:

Doing clunk in 4x4 or 4x2 or both? If only 4x4 then could be transfer chain jumping a tooth

I had the same thing - a clunk you could feel through the floor, right under the pedals. Mine seemed to happen when the weight slowly came off and then back on the right front corner.

I figured it was the rear spring bushes on the front spring, but when i changed them the old ones looked fine. So I tightened all the chassis mounting bolts while I was under there.

The clunk has gone...... Not sure which fix worked though. Tightening the chassis mounts is easy and free, so perhaps try that?

i had that on my truck the body mount under where the pedals are had collapsed on the body side fixed it - noise gone.
