10 or 12 bolt rear diff?

Ordering some ring and pinion gears. I have a 93 vitara. Apparently that is the year of transition between the 10 and 12 bolt rear diffs. Does anyone know of a way to tell without stripping the diff out?

I've rebuilt parts of both types but couldn't tell you. The V6 diffs have a bolt on the passenger side pointing out and im pretty sure they're all 12 bolt. All the fronts I've seen are 10 bolt. The guy from Te Puke parts world woukd know.

Vits with carbs have 10 bolt rear.
