KZN185 R151F gearbox help.

Hey all, a mate of mine has lost high range. Went to take off herd a bit of a bang and then no drive, the mid range and low range still work without having to push 4wd. So just the high range, has anyone had this problem before??

im guessing rear diff gone as usually with surfs when u shift into low range it engages 4wd automatically

not mid range. it has h4 L it seems to be in the middle of high and low...????

Drove it around in the 4wd and no noises from the diff.. will take a look tomorrow.

Please don't tell me it's who I think it is
That's all he needs. Nothing worse than repairs eating into the improvement buget.

Rear diff blown, h4L locks the centre diff.
Put it in gear in 2wd and check if the drive shaft is spinning but no drive

^^^ dead right. H4L = High range 4wd locked.

rear axle snapped right at the bearing.
