Another Terrano to add to the mix

Post by Xany »

Ahoy there fellow offroaders....

I decided to introduce myself as i've been lurking for way too long and been gathering info from the forum for a while.

http://smg.beta.photobucket.com/user/Xany84/story/9303

I own a 91 TD27T 2 door Terrano which was already converted to manual when i bought it. Great little rig, before the terrano i had a 87 Pathfinder with what i swear was a tractor engine (z24 single spark). So i've had my fair share of tinkering with the chassis of the D21's.

I've had the Terrano since about the end of 2011, since then i've done over 50,000ks in it and most of its been trouble free! :D

The list of mods to the Terrano as it stands atm:

2" body lift
2.5" rear suspension lift
2" torsion lift
4x4parts upper A-arms
Idler Arm brace
31x10.5x15 Firestone A/T (looking to replace with 16" 32 equivalent soonish)
Boost increased to around 9-10psi
Dash speedo and tacho revamped (no more sun damaged needles)

I'm actually looking to do a 2wd steering mod on the draglink soon....need to collect some more info on that though :)

Cheers guys

Welcome to the forum, how do you find the new A arms? Were they expensive?

4x4parts.com - the AC ones will help it get aligned, Rough Country/Superlift will keep the upper ball joints straight too. Talk to Jane, she'll put it in a flat rate box to keep the price down.

Nice truck!
TOYOTA - The Official Vehicle of ISIS!
And makers of the '92 Camry, where you got your first backseat handjob.

A arms weren't too expensive, around 200 shipped to my door in brisbane.

I actually took the dash apart and cleaned the odometer and trip meter cause they were covered in some kind of muck and hard to see. The globes in the dash I replaced with nice bright LEDs. The needles I actually sourced from a mates jeep cluster that he didnt want...they were red so I painted them white first then put a coat of fluro orange rc paint that I had sitting around. Came up a treat.

Next mods will be the 2wd steering setup I've been reading about, and then a mandrel exhaust to squeeze some extra ponies out. Possibly a LSD centre swap soon too as mine is getting a little tired as it came out of a pathfinder that had done close to 400,000ks...

Thanks for the welcome!
