except the price tag that comes with it....
why would he get a solid axle if he wants to drive on the road with it?
terranos are nicer to drive than a hilux, and ya dont have to mod a suzuki to be reliable...

Re: WTB 4wd budget 5k must be manual
if ya spent the amount of money you would on a toyota, you could make a really strong little suzuki, except it will still be cheap to run and good onroad lol.
even a terrano, spend 1k on it and youve got a vehicle thats reliable, good for towing, and still fits the family in it.
have you thought about a 7 seater mistral?

And yeah a terano would handle a lot better then a leaf sprung hilux. Different design for a reason...
Cheers, good luck with the purchase

Re: WTB 4wd budget 5k must be manual
Way overpriced for a carby model, probably worth about $3500 max. The EFI ones are heaps better.
Re: WTB 4wd budget 5k must be manual
i was going to slightly expensive for what it is, then i got to see the inside.
that is one tidy vitara.
definitly been looked after.
although if your going to be taking the kids places youd probably want a 5 door one.
this ones high k's but it comes with a 12 month mechanical warranty.
http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-ca ... 194713.htm
its too bad all the other 5 door ones seem to be v6 ones, which ive been told to stay away from due to timing chain issues...
i suppose in the end if your happy wit a 3 door one the white one would be a good place to start, its starting to get high in the k's though, which
