Valve Shims 1KZTE WTD

Post by kbushnz »

Hi All
I am after some valve shims for me 1KZTE...
Did a valve clearance check and they have all closed up a bit from when I did the head a few years back.
I can swap for the shims I can't use....
I am after 4 off 13753-54440 which are 2.75mm thick ones or 0.108
So if you have any in those sheds please throw me a PM.

Thanks in advance...
Cheers Calvin

All sorted now.. ended up buying some...Gaps are all in spec now... wonder what difference it could make...
Old gaps were too tight... by about 4 thou below the lowest gap setting....

They were $17 + gst each from Toyota...
Could have got some from Don Kyatt (NZ Bus and Truck) for $10 ea but would have to wait 2 - 3 weeks for the next shipment from Aussie....Or pay $50 postage.. (don't ask)
I even rang a round a few dealer workshops and also cylinder head / engine re-conditioners... in Auck.. And none wanted to swap for the shims I needed... Apparently its a commonly used size..

FWIW years ago I made up a fitting for the valve refacing machine to size down jag shims.

If you need a thinner shim and had a micrometer I see no reason why you couldn't do this even with an ordinary bench grinder.

Cheers, P.
