Most have probably worked out Im looking at heading towards an auto by now

Started by removing the tail section of the 1UZFE auto I acquired for 50 bucks

had to grind off the little tit thing as I didnt have a long enough socket, once that was done I unbolted the tail section like so

Now the fun bit started..

Now toyota being toyota.. I thought surely not.. but hey it did, bolted this on..

As you can see from the pic the coupler is sticking out a wee bit far.. so out with the grinder again as I dont have a lathe..

and then slipped it on, worked out great, I then had a spare casing floating around so just for mockup bolted that on

then started to assemble the xfer as normal

Now I have a small problem but not huge as I can just get my grinder out again to fix it..

Here is the pic

The rest seemed to bolt up nicely so Im going to go with that.. Not going to just yet as all the good bits are on the truck now..
There is a bit of play in the output shaft bearing and apparently I need a shim or too.. ?? 2.32mm I think( if anyone has a spare of those?) as it will stop the in out difference and make things seat nicely..
Next thing to do is take the pump out of the auto and physically check if I can swap some gears over from another box I have

The PTO side of things should work out bloody good as it's all bolt on..
I may need to make my front driveshaft longer and the rear shorter but havent measured any of that yet.. so you know.. little steps..

Thats it for now..
cheers K
