for a 4x4 application not much chop if your driving to your location on seal, then want to air down for mud/sand. Wonder how theyll go when the mud clogs up the honeycombs.

However, for a dedicated daily driver yeah, why not, the theorys good.

First time I saw thins kinda thing was nigh on 10 years ago, cant recall who had them in, but they were still in R & D stage.

yeh apparently the US military have been using the technology, but it hasnt taken off so polaris wants a go at it.. interesting also how it would deal with pebbles/rocks stuck in the honeycombs..

Yeah imagine them full of river stones :). May make a useful spare for road vehicles so no need to worry about keeping the spare aired up. We have a bobcat at work at the moment running these type of tyres. It is working around demolition waste so punctures would be a big issue.

A good part of the reason why I air down is to increase my footprint. This idea doesn't enable that. Dunno what rock would do if it struck where the 'sidewall' of said tyre is too.

i think the only thing stopping me from wanting tyres like this is its made from plastic, and there is nothing stoping stones getting in the spokes.

maybe if they had a rubber side wall that prevented stuff going it it would work.

wouldnt have to be anything major, just enough to stop stones and mud.
