I currently have a heavy duty towbar rated to 3500kg but it is mounted down low and the tounge drags off road.
My thoughts are to cut the tounge off and weld in a receiver tube and then raise the towbar.
Anyone have any thoughts or know where to buy receiver tube in the welly area?
Cheers
Matt
where to buy a receiver tube?
Re: where to buy a receiver tube?
Reciever tube like heavy wall RHS? Hunt down a few local engineers - turn up in your steel caps + saftey glasses with a 6pack (in the boot) and ask to check out their short offcuts, I wld imagine a 3 to 400mm length wld keep you happy and you can just file off the seam. Apart from that its approx a 6m length from a supplier

I take it you know supercheap auto sell the inner tongue and ball now? the reciever tube for mine was 65x65x5mm and cost a dozen tui at the local engineers. go by the tow ball section first so ya engineer knows where to drill the hole on the sleeve.
