the idler bearing in my 88 GQ TD (no turbo) is getting noticeably worse since when i brought it 4months ago. ive checked various threads - and it appears that pulling the motor is best way rather than pulling gearbox back.
Are there any key issues/tricks i need to be aware of when pulling eng?
Also - if i continue to drive and idler fails, will it cause damage to clutch?
Easiest way to replace ilder bearing in GQ?

If your idler is stuffed chances are the clutch will be on it's way out to.
I have found the engine out is the best way to change them.

its a super heavy iron thing on one side and a even heavier iron thing on the other
if you have access to a hoist and a trans' jack then pulling the gearbox would be the go.
if not then the motor is the next best, just be aware that the motor is way heavy
