1985 Beam axle Surf

Post by ruf_zuki »

I figured id list this again as I dont see myself working on it anytime in the next few years and its taking up space in my shop.

It owes me a stupid amount of money so il be taking reasonable offers based on what the parts are worth.

Its a factory solid front axle surf. Reg is on hold.

Its had the rear spring put up front and Falcon springs put in the rear. Both swaps are not finished and still need work.
It has a IFS model rear axle with a welded 4.55 open diff. Disk conversion was started. I have brakets cut to hold the galant calipers and solid rear discs.
Handbrake stuff has not been done.

Front axle was rebuilt before I pulled it off the road 7ish years ago. It has a 4.55 L.S.D fitted with manual ORA hubs.
Twin pot calipers and solid discs.

Engine is a Factory 2LTE. Hasnt been run for years. Would be best to give it a freshen up/check over before starting. Has a steel snorkle and dual batteries. Boost was bumped up aswell.
Has an advanced adapters dual transfer adapter fitted and Gearbox setup had been lifted and custom rear mount which bolt to the rear housing on transfer case has been fitted.
Reduction transfer case has a custom twin stick setup I made long before 'off the shelf, bolt on' kits were available for a reasonable price.
Driveshafts have not been made but I have all the Joints etc to make them.

Does not have any rims but I have a brand new set of 5 , 37x12.5x15 " Goodyear Wranglers for it which owe me $2k alone.

Bodywise its average. I drove it hard and did some proper wheeling with its old setup before I cut it up.
I have a cut set of front gaurds on it and a good set.. Has a push-up moonroof thing. Body has been 'bobbed' 340mm behind rear gaurd.Tailgate and window still works as it should. Canopy was cut up front and the square sliding window removed. Canopy was glassed back togethor and all seals/bolts up properly. Not 100% mint job but everyone who see's it doesnt even realise its been shortened.
Stock rear part of chassis was cut off and I replace it with some 100x50 rhs with a new shackle mount setup. Still needs tweaking.
Front leaf mounts were boxed and recessed into chassis rails to act as a slider but they need moving forward more.
Doesnt have any rust that ive found. It had some around the winscreen up top but I cut that out and put new metal in.

Interior is limited. Has stock dash with extra boost/oil pressure and temp gauges. Stock front and rear seats which are pretty damn tidy.
Carpet was thrown out as I used to cross rivers with it. No door panel. I velcroed this camo meash sorta shit on there so I could dry the doors out quickly. Has manual window winders and a Nardo steering wheel

Comes with some spare canopy windows, few spare taillights, driveshaft joints, some rear passenger interior panels,

All work was done by myself and a mate did the glassing on canopy. I have not worked on it for at least 5-6 years.

I have an automotive fab buisness and this is what I do for a living so can assist in the rest of the build but I dont personally have the money or time to finish it anytime soon. Id like to hang onto it and finish it one day but I could do with the space and putting the money into the buisness.

I will take some pics during the week as I have to shift a few vehicles out to see it properly.
It is located in East Tamaki, Auckland. I have a car trailer so can deliver in the auckland area or elsewhere by negotiation.

Come and have a look and make an offer. Dont lowball me as I know what parts are worth and there has been alot of labour gone into it. Im not looking for top dollar but I also know what It costs to build things like this.
I would like it to go complete so not parting out at this stage

Cheers
