I can almost see a reason for the extra rear axle, but am struggling with the extra front axle concept

I'll agree with Suza on that one. 6x6 has its uses but 8x8 no..and its certainly not going to be any use as a military vehicle, the front axle looks like it has around 1" uptravel.
Prehaps it would look better if they had stretched the cab to cover the rear axle and stretched the engine bay to cover the front, like a bizarre limo
