Hey, Yes I did search.
Roughly how much should a garage charge me all up to change an Auto 4.2 to a manual?
Cheers

Thanks man, Box included or "on top of"
Re: Auto To Manual GQ
i imagine that would be on top of, most manuals cost around that, if more for the clutch plate, pedal box and necesary componants.

thats not too bad (2.5k) seeing you can pick up an auto for like 5k less then a manual version
Re: Auto To Manual GQ
it seems to be one of those things, there is allways demand for manual 4x4's over autos.
i picked up a safari auto gearbox with transfer case for 400 bucks.
but when i was looking for a manual one i couldnt find one less than 1.5k.
same goes with terrano/navara's aswell, not soo much of a difference, but manual ones are usually dearer.
that was shipped to southland from christchurch aswell, guy had just done a conversion.
you may be able to save some money if you find an old wrecked/dereg manual one and part it out, or keep spares for you truck, either way.
but yea make sure you find a place thats done one before, will save you alot of money as they will allready know what to do and what not to do, not to mention know about all those fidly little tjhings that need to be done before etc.

Re: Auto To Manual GQ
i paid 750 for my manual conversion that included everything, pedals, clutch cylinders pipes the whole lot the only thing i have to budget for is a new HD clutch although a good standard one came with, there is alot of work involved plus hire of a crane if you do it yourself. also there are some wiring issues you have to tend too which someone will need to show you.
i am at the "ready to pull everything out stage" as i am putting in another engine at the same time, i have been at this stage for 4 months now and just cant get time to do it, and now my boat carbs need stripping and cleaning, (why is everything i own old) i am almost tempted to get the engine and box done by someone, it would only take a weekend with a couple of people..its just finding that time and teeing up a helper.
