Nissan Safari Lift Springs question

Post by FORGE1 »

Hey Everyone,

Im looking to finish off my lift in the Safari over the next couple of weeks.

I purchased a pair (front) springs off datsunsafari

Dobi Springs

Linear Rate - Raised Height (75mm Lift)
Heavy Duty
60 - 110Kg Accessories (Bull Bar and Winch)
C45-108 (B)

Im wanting to get the ones to match the back and the options are:

Option 1 - Raised Height (75mm Lift)
Light Load to GVM C45-129 (B)

Option 2 - Linear Rate
Raised Height (75mm Lift)
350Kg to GVM 1 C45-309T (C)

I do plan on doing the odd bit of heavy towing but I dont want to loose to much flex getting the heavier ones. If anyone has used these before and can advise if they were still all good then I will get the heavier ones. The other thing is I dont want to get springs that once I load up the family stuff for a week away that the rear sags with the load that would annoy me haha.

On the back mine has a 350kg sticker on the back door is that in regards to load carrying (inside the car) haha its the only one thats ever had this sticker on it out of the 5 other Safari's I have owned

I have previously used Cobra H/D ones in my bighorn and they flexed really well but I have never had Dobi springs before.

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers
Ray

I had Dobinsons heavy duty coils in the rear (19mm) and they sagged badly when loaded up, it was guess work to find out what spec they were.

Did lots of info hunting and worked out the best coils to replace the rears were C45-309T's. They are 20mm 3" HD and 294lbs loading. I actually gained 40mm extra height in the rear by fitting them over the previous 19mm HD coils.

They handle loads way better and even though they are slightly stiffer they make the front end suspension work better.

My 2c is get the C45-309T's, the agent here is Autolign and they got them in for me.

I had heavy duty dobinsons ( can't remember which rating) in a swb safari I hated them very harsh ride. Even standard rates are hard. May not be in your budget but I would highly recommend efs with 45ml bore. Worth the extra money.
GU patrol 35s ect.
Money and time pit Suzuki Build.

Sweet cheers looks like the HD ones are the better ones to go for.

I'm not fussed with harsh riding as the bighorn was really harsh and I ended up getting used to it haha.

Yeah I would like to get the efs set up and could potentially save for it and grab that as well but I want to grab a couple of other bits as well like a locker, manual hubs and rust work done haha

Cheers all I will put my order in tomorrow

Thanks again guys
