15x8s for 15x10s

Post by a80crewza »

I'm keen to change my 15x8 rims for 15x10 rims, mainly because they look better and give me more tire width, but, would this help with guard rub on my kzn130? Any other advantages/disadvantages with swapping??

If anyone is interested in swapping their 15x10s for my 15x8s let me know.

Cheers.

Tyre size would be some critical info for an educated comment, but if your only after looks, capability's as a 4x4 will be comprimised. I'm on 8 inch rims and would like to go narrower to give more sidewall exposure to protect bead and rim and help keep tyre on the bead, but cert is getting tighter and require the tyre to be on it's manufactuers recomended rim size. A mate had 10 inch rims on his Safari ( can't remember tyre size )
and kept poping tyres off the beads down the Waimak, but hey, they looked good
I'd stick to the 8's
If you break it... build it stronger.

10s would give you less tyre width not more unless you get new super wide tyres too. 10s look cool but 8s have a way wider tyre footprint. Does it rub on your flares or body at the moment? Just at the front when turning?

Thanks for replies,,

Opps, tire size is 33x12.5. they rub on the mudgaurds, not on the front flares. And only when turning/full lock.

Would a bigger O/S on rims help? I have -19 O/S at the moment.

Same tyres size and wheel as me. Although I have 3" lift. Mine still rubbed on mud gaurds and front bumper flare clips when turning or heavily compressed too. I just did some careful and clean shaving back of the flare and mud gaurd and she's good as gold now, sliiiight rub sometimes but that's just fine tuning the shaving back I did ;)

A bigger offset will make it worse.

I just took my lower front bumper off and don't have any rubbing there anymore. Have you got a spring lift and body lift, or just spring :?:
