Well decided that if I was going to fit the qd32 that I wanted to run the vnt turbo correctly so im working on an arduino controller now.
Looks like its going to work at this stage. Should make great boost down low and even an engine brake if I sort it out right

Very interesting, what are you going to control with the Arduino? Can you code?

LOl similar sort of thing. Just close the turbo up and it will choke it up. I have done it on the td27 by winding in the vanes it will not go over 1500 rpm. that's on a 2,7 on a 3,2 it would be alot lower

Where's the "like" button?
Keep us posted. Been trying to work out a way of controlling a vnt turbo cheaply and easily.

Cheers,

Love this idea, will be wicked to drive with the exhaust brake. Would be even better if they made jakes to fit to these moters

Well not much has been happening on this side of the ditch. Working on my qd32 ready to go in.
This is the pump thats going on the engine. Its running a qd32 11mm pump head on a td27 pump. Im trying to get hold of a 2500 spring from an rd28 to give it a 5000 rpm rev limit.
The stock terrano spring is a 4100rpm but starts to pull fuel at about 3800rpm. If you drive your terrano you will feel the srop in power at about 3800 at least now that I have told you about it you will.

I am working on a custom boost compenator pin but will wait until its in the truck and so I can actually road test it and see how its effecting the engine.

It would be awesome to get the adjustable lid for the boost compensator but if I cant I will make one. Its not that hard

All welded up and on to the other side now.
I have jigged it up so it will all be even, Much easier to get it right this way.
The wooden blocks are all glued down in case your wondering.

Whats the point in jiging them? unless you plan on making heaps of them,
no one is going to be able to tell if they are a few mm out you could use the first one as the jig and build the second one off it.

That's a great idea.
and that's just what I have done, I am a metal work teacher and I like to make sure that I do accurate work as my students see it. I want to install into them good work ethics.
