TD27T Help/Question

Post by travis2ninja »

Hi,
I have a 92 Nissan Terrano with the TD27T engine.
I am new with this engine and i have 2 problems,
There is this vacuum hose i have found which isn't connected to anything.
And i have a problem trying to start the car sometimes.
I turn the key to "on" the acc comes on radio comes on but none of the dash lights come on and it will not start, it is really annoying, I have checked all the fuses and two relays click when i turn the key. Also the immobilizer light does go off when i put the key near it. So any suggestions to the cause of that and where that vacuum hose should connect to? Thanks

hey mate i had similar issues, mine would turn on and everything but when i turned the key everything would shut off.

it was a dogey ignition switch, from a previous owner installing a turbo timer.

check around and wiggle it, theres a screw holding it to the ignition.

on my terrano, #1 goes to where #3 is, and #2 goes all the way down to the injection pump, by where the wire connects to the pump.

Okay, where abouts on the injector pump? I cannot find where abouts it would go on, There is just to much crap in the way to see. Maybe a diagram?
Also another problem which has just started in the last 30minutes, The Air Con and Cigarette lighter is not working, And all the fuses are fine.

Yeah, as dirty dog said, a diaphram type actuater that pulls on throttle for fast idle when aircon is on. It's about 40mm in diametre on the right side of injector pump.

Just had a look at drawings and aircon and lighter are feed froom different fuses, but the supply to both these fuses is feed from the ignition switch (white with red stripe) Black with red strip is the supply to ign switch
If you break it... build it stronger.

Thanks, I have put the vacuum hose in place, and i got behind the fuse box and had a look at everything, Didn't see anything wrong. And magically the aircon and cigarette lighter started working. So i have no idea, Loose wire somewhere. But it would be helpful to know which fuse is for what (Because i don't know Japanese) And what does this knob do?

Good to know. So if I've pulled all the A/C crap out, that can go too?

The knob is a hand throttle, suppose to raise the idle revs. If you have totally deleted EGR as well then you block the circled nipple off at the vacuum manifold and throw all the hosing and the two electric valves behind the battery out too. Take a/c actuator off the fuel pump.Makes it uncluttered too, easy to clean

Cheers,
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

I think those 2 that you are not sure about are for the headlamps

The one on the right that you're not sure about is fog lamp, the one to the left of it is some kind of gauge (my katakana is a bit rough these days!).

Does anyone have the wiring diagrams/drawings for the fuse box and ignition switch? Or just a whole manual in pdf?

So i think these relays where the problem, The left one for the Ignition/dash lights? and the middle one for the Cigarette lighter and air-con? They were not clicking before, i took them out and cleaned the dust out and now when the ignition comes on the middle one clicks and when key is turned to "on" the left one clicks.
