Hi guys
Just wondering if someone can give some tips on how to access the nuts on the intake manifold. I have removed the elbow on the top and can see very very thick layers of shit inside, so I want to pull the whole manifold off and clean it out and do a EGR delete
There are around 3 or 4 nuts i just cant seem to get to, as the injector tubing is in the way
Cheers

Really? No ones done this?

Re: TD27T Intake Manifold
use 3/8 drive extension and go in from underneath
Re: TD27T Intake Manifold
Sorry mate didn't see first post. I have done this a number of times and have not fitted a few things back to make the job easier. The boost feed pipe to the fuel pump is a little a/hole to get back on so i missed it out and used some of the EGR tube to hook it back up and held it up under the manifold with cable ties.
So to make the access to the bolts easier, slacken off and undo the injector pipes at the injectors and gently bend out of the way. Careful not to drop crap in the top of the injectors ( I have a set of the plastic caps that are installed on the injectors when they are returned from a fuel shop after reconditioning). This allows not only access to the bolts but also the ability to manoeuvre the manifold off the studs without undoing much more. When you have put it all back together, there is no need to bleed injector pipes as they will bleed themselves while cranking on the starter (just may take 5 or so seconds and run a little rough for a few more seconds on the first start up)
I hope this helps.
Cheers,

BRILLIANT!

Is it essential that i replace the gaskets???

Yeah. Cheap and common as from BnT or Repco or alike.
Most welcome.
