worsleys

Post by crazyclark31 »

Hi all. am up in chch for a week. and am keen to go for a bit of 4wding. Have heard this road is a bit of a challenge. Seeing as its flat around home and pretty much mud am keen to try some more tech driving for a change.
Truck is a lwb safari. 2in lift 33s but no lockers, winch, have front, and rear bar work and sliders to. Do have a thinking driver tho  . As far as damage goes well if it happens it happens but do try to avoid it untill the red mist sets in  .
Basically after a bit of a challenge/mission for an arvo. Have all my recovery gear incl ground anchor.

Cheers

Tied up till after easter, could do an after work run on Tue or Wed if you're still around then. If no one fronts up its actually pretty ok as a solo run, hi-lift and some bits of wood is just as likely to get you out of trouble as a snatch from another truck. Not much to winch off up there. Real good idea to get out and walk sections to plan your line rather than just drive in and get hung up in a hole.

went up worsleys today. Man that is a fun track. :D :D Took all the right hand tracks that are currently being used and was sweet as.
It was a real nice change to get to do something other than mud. Can see why some of you guys like the rocks.
Am seriously looking at going back in weekend and have a real good play in some of those ruts.
Vids to come

Is this worsley on the port hills in CHCH?

I've got a surf with a 2" lift and 32 AT's - cautious beginner driver.

Cheers

Edit: Just read another couple of threads on this track. ha ha might give it a miss till i know what im doing. Might go for a nose tho (on foot!).

a landy will go anywhere just on coolness factor alone

unless worsleys has changed you should be able to pick your lines carefully in the dry and get through with little or no help. Wet, well then all cards are up in the air and I'd just follow hosehustler

And hope he will stop and pull you through......

To be fair, this track is waaayyyyy more fun when it is dry. You can really push the envelope
