escudo leaking radiator header tank

Post by suzuki69 »

hi all, my 1.6 manual suk has some cracks in the plastic header, i did try some epoxy stuff to seal it but i think a new top tank bit is in order. does anyone know if they are easy to swap and where a good source in christchurch might be? i need to sell this car as i just bought an auto version to replace it.

I'm pretty sure there is a radiator place in ChCh that markets on Tardme at what seems to be reasonable pricing? Any rad' shop should be able to do it for you but nowadays it seems to me that new radiators cost little more than getting a new top tank.

Yeah, most modern stuff has plastic header tanks now. I had one done a couple of years ago in Nelson and from memory it cost me around $100. That's getting the Rad' shop to remove the buggered unit, supply and fit the new tank and seal.
