I've got lockrights in my zuk. I'm quite used to them, and passengers don't notice them.
I never hear mine "click" except when doing a 90 degree turn into my driveway going really slowly.
It occasionally lets out a big bang when easing on the power.
And it will clunk quite a bit when getting on or off the gas, due to the extra free-play they introduce in the diff.
Trick to driving with them is to qucikly jab/slip the clutch a bit when going from accelerating to decelerating, or decelerating to accelerating to minimise the clunk, and to keep the throttle fairly constant when going round steady turns (eg roundabouts) to prevent any jerking.
Sounds like a hassle, but its really second nature once you're used to it, and it doesn't take long to get used to.

had a locker in the front of my cruiser and steering in the slippery stuff around tight tracks/corners is a bitch, and popped 2 CV's on one tripmost probably my driving that did it but i have taken it out to try an LSD up front to see if that has enough traction for me and a little softer on the drive line and hopefully turns a bit better, havent tested yet so will let you know

so you wouldnt recommend 1 in the front of a 350chev powered fj40?
i was thinking of welding up the rear and putting a lokka in the front.
i may just leave the front open and put the lokka in the rear. it has no power steering and is not road legal.
are lokkas hard to fit?
