After trying to do it carefully I just pulled it hard then it popped off i then resoled the main ones I could see and now it works fine. Wasn't that hard would recommend others to try.

is the rev counter 12v or 24v in a 24v Safari,
I know the dash is a mix and match.

12 or 24V?
I have issue with my rev counter also. (88 GQ)
After online searches I believed it was 12v feed, however when I pulled out tacho, main feed on board to tacho is from a common 24v in. Ive tried another spare cluster I had but still no rev counter workn, haven't yet tried the resolder all joints yet.
I believe my fault may be with sensor which was my next step.
Havent yet found any clear tech info on tests for this.

I asked the auto techs here and they said it was 12v even tho mine safari is 24v but did not check this but was told I'd a really common fault with Nissans dashes not just patrols or safaris. I would find out how much for good second hand one then swap see what happens.

which kick panel? as far as I knew I only had one 24-12v converter, its enormous and sits behind my head unit for stereo/radios/cigarette power.
