PROJECT CHAPZUKI

Post by mroffroader »

Hey Turoa said i should do this so i am :lol: they say the most fun 4x4's are the ones built on a budget i totally agree :lol: this is a slow on going project and i do as many mods as i can where money permits (im only 15 so no high paying jobs here :cry: ) i have saved all my life to buy it and i have nothing else to spend my money on so everything goes into my baby.....chapzuki 8) i bought it totally standard it was mint......not anymore :roll:

This is project chapzuki (turoa named it because my last names chapman and its a suzuki :roll: ) lol any way the list of mods so far is

Aircon to aircompressor
Rear lockright
sill bars (made by me and red_zuki)
front bar (made by me)
skidplate (made by me)
air intake into behind glovebox(made by me)
30" hancook muddies
1&1/2" suspension lift
longer rear shocks
spotties
Rear bar (care of WTBS.....ur the man marty)
front strut mount flip

far far far away to come is:
bigger motor bigger diffs and SAS :roll: :lol:

Image bending up the bar at WTBS

Image chosing the bar and looking for plate steel

Image welding up the bar

Image the front bar with spotties (just replaces the front big silly plastic bumper)

Image my pimping chrome sill bars

Image where the snorkel connects to the standard air intake system

Image where it goes

Image close up, the second hole with silicone around it is the one you have to drill ( ends up by heater in the passenger footwell)

Image where it goes (just behind the speaker and then glovebox goes back in :wink: )

ok so costs so far,

car cost=$3500
tyres=$500
lift=$180
shocks=$40
front bar=$50
skid plate= zip zero nada :lol:
snorkel thing=$30 for pipe
lockright=$700 (inc. labour to put in)
sillbars=$40
spotties=$40
rear bar=$450

total so far=$5530 not to mention little things like tow hooks fire ext. air compressor and pump tow ropes etc :roll: :lol:

but the way i look at it you cant put a price on how much fun i have in it, so i hope to see you out on the tracks one day :wink:

James

Maybe :oops: . 2 weeks until the ORE BBQ. I wonder if I can pinch the old mans truck again :roll:

I dont think the rover will be ready for a trip in 2 weeks, I just need to get the cage sorted (this weekend) and then ill be able to go hard on it, and get driveshafts and steering columns made.

3 weeks until interclubs. hmmm :scratch:

Slight hi jack, but James will like this one.

Met a local ChCh guy on Friday who is building a Vitara with 37" mtr's on.
Saw some photos, bit more work to do on it yet, but was starting to look real cool. Still a bit secret squirral, so couldn't get any other specs, other than he plans to road legal it.
Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!

ok a update already :D

got my A into G and did my front strut mount flip, i saw this on the net at...... http://www.zukiworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=13687.0 and i thought hey it will cost me nothing and i will gain some travel from it 8) so i started when i got home from school (5pm) and was thinking id be there till dark and do at least one side as it looked time consuming........but i was wrong 1 hour 15 minutes later i had both sides done :D and not only have i gained some travel, the car was on a slight lean forward because of the new big rear shocks and now its come level :D so for anybody with a small lift in a vitara and standard front shocks it doesn't take long at all and i took a short cut i cut the old nuts off with the angle grinder lol :roll: and just hit what was left out with a punch and hammer and wacked some new ones back in :twisted: all done :lol:
