Range Rover P/S to Early 110

I have just purchased an 1985 110 with a 3.3 Nissan 4cyl diesel, I have sourced a p/s pump for this motor but am wondering what work needs to be done to install p/s to the 110. It is just the steering box that needs to be swap out with a disco/rr/defender one or is it more complicated than that?

That's about it. Box bolts straight on but you will need a reservoir and some plumbing as well.

Try use a early disco box the one with the standard rod ends on the drop arm also the disco front rod which you may have to shorten a small amount .
The two trucks I have done also needed the chassis holes enlarged from approx 3/8 to 10mm to mount box .Also the later boxes from face lift discoes are a bit light in the steering and you loose feed back in a power slide as the brit army found out in bosnian winters . cheers nick

I used pump, reservoir, hoses and steering box from a rangerover classic (early 80s). All bolted straight onto my 89 v8 110.
I kept the 110 track rod (steering box to hub) as it has the steering damper mount on it unlike disco and rangie which are on the on the tie rod behind the axle.

I had a 110 with a Nissan FD35 and it used the Nissan pump with the rover P/S box, the only thing I can say is that the 110's with rover pumps (and rover motors) seemed lighter on the wheel but that may just have been the engine weight as the the FD is very heavy.

Also just remembered increase the pre load on the swivels /railco bushes to stop bump steering . I like later drop arm as it uses a standard rod end and easy to change also easy to clamp damper to front rod and you can use 2 like me on front and rear if it is a bit light . cheers nick
