Hi there. looking at a set of second hand Creepy Crawler 35/12.5R16s on 16X8 rims. Manufacturer's recommended rim width is 10". What effect does the 8" rim have and does it compromise on performance (such as, can you lower the pressure as much?).

8 inch rims are good in the bush as being a bit narrower it helps hold the bead in place when running lower air pressure

They will also wear out the tread centre faster with 8" rims. I run 37x14.5x15 Crawlers on 10" rims on my shitter. They are at 20psi all the time, on road off road. Seem to be wearing alright.

Like the others said. Should be fine, it also allow the tyre shoulders to be more pronounced...that rim width would be my choice for that width tyre

they'll be fine... i run my 35/12.5r15 Trepadors on an 8" rim, and theyre recomend to be fitted to a 10" rim, wearing fine, have done about 8-10k on them now and still wearing mint
