Gidday Guys, Just wondering where the best place to go for adjustable panhard rods and caster correction bushes, for a 2" lifted VX 80 series. Unfortunately the guy who did the lift did a half pie job, springs and shocks only!!! I'm in Chch, so somewhere down here would be good.
i have just done a cad drawing and it works out at around a 2.86 degree swing and using a 1m rod length there was no measurable change
i would suspect that it would be similar results for the caster correction bushes
imho
Agree, Ive never needed to use adjustable panhards with only a 2" lift, makes hardly any difference and they are expensive, cool though. Castor correction bushes are a must though because even with only a 2" lift your steering will feel faster than before the lift. Like wopass said, tough dog stuff is good.
The flip side of the above is that unless you are planning on consistently changing the ride height of your suspension, why chuck money at adjustable panhards? Just make them the correct length for the lift, but if the above is correct, then there is no need to even shag about with that.
Do the axles look like they are offset with the centre line of the truck? (ie is the wheel on one side hanging in or out further than the wheel on the other side)
Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!

my cad program couldn't measure the amount of lateral movement between the two rod positions. it will be there but it will be more than 3 decimal point places behind the decimal point. know what i mean....(as in 1000.000_ _)
if some body has the length (approx) of the radius/control arms then that to could be worked out as well
Cheers for the info. I got a fulla to check the truck out before I bought it, he told me that the front diff was sitting approx 10-15mm to the right (drivers side) off centre due to the panhard rod being to short, also the rear brake lines are tight and the sway bars are at their limit.
Just to confirm the cert plate says the lift is 635mm front and 650mm rear, which sounds like 2.5' lift to me????
.... and at 4 inches dont forget about getting it re-certed, and belonging to a club so you can get your special card which says youre allowed to own it/use it/but not sell it to anyone else who doesnt have the superpower card..... (How did it even get certed at 4 inches with no adj panhard, screwed up castor etc and an out of whack front diff??? Wonder if did have and its been removed prior to sale???)
(aww gwon already, someone had to go there....!!!!!! )

lol Im hoping for a superpower card and I have about.. but not totally sure 5-6"lift.. and it still not high enough..
They can't reach me in my POS to give me the card. I read that we have to give the lycra wankers 1.5mtrs clearance, so I lifted the truck that far so I can run them over........

Priceless.. how things are just soo PC.. I wonder the stats about accidents that happen actually are from modified trucks.. I bet it's less then 2%.. so why all the fuss.. just another form of tax I suspect.. sorry for thread jack
