6wd stuck

Post by spanky »

heres some pics to have a laugh at,cost me a box for getting stuck, this is what happens when you hit a soft spot in a paddock when weighing 50 ton.managed to tip off some of the load and another loaded truck towed me out, then spent 20 mins washing crap out of the rear discs and calipers.

Or a class 2 and Special type-Wheels endorsement if you keep below 30km/h.

Mind you, most of the ADTs we use (from 30-50 tonne payload) have huge stickers inside saying "May not be operated on a public road".

 You boys have a long way to go.... 15yrs of logging you'll find a whole different level of stuck how about a 528 skidder stuck deep enough that I had to step up out of the cab to run the winch out.... pulled out 3 trees (thats pulled them over and ripped the stumps out of the ground) before one held
No pics  if I'd stuffed around long enough to get a camera and take pics I'd have been sacked and more than likely smacked in the head by the boss or the forman for taking the piss
Heres a pic of a similar machine for perspective note the height compared to the containers behind (my wheels were level with the ground  )

an outfit i used to drive had astras and volvos, the volvos never had any problems and they had done heaps of hours and were driven like they were stolen as you get told to drive artics when learning lol but the astras you had to be so gentle with them and they still gave so many problems

Agreed, :D
Our Volvos are from 10-15,000hrs & don't give half the trouble of our 2-3,000hr Hitachi 30s or new Bell 50s. Just had a Hitachi die completely on me yesterday in the middle of a steep bottleneck & effectively shut mine ops down for a couple of hours until the mechanics could get up and swap electronic handpads over to get it shifted!
