5L wont rev whiteish smoke

Having a few problems with getting my 5l to run, bleed lines etc starts fine idles fine but as soon as put foot on pedal it coughs splutters and blows white smoke any ideas on what it could be? smoke clears and engine revs when pump up fuel primer, is mechanical injection

not much help but has a safari blow white smoke turns out it was a blocked filter couldn't get enough fuel

Mine done exact same thing was the hand primer, chuck clear hose between the filter and pump and look for air bubbles with it running
