So I have a hilux diff in the front of the isuzu bighorn. I have had a problem twice now where I have bent the steering arm on the passengers side of the vehicle. Last year I bought a high steer kit and beefed up tie rods drag links etc. Unfortunately I didnt have the clearance to make it work so have beefed up drag link, tie rods, fj80 ball joints and a hydraulic arm attached to normal steering arms.
So the question is has anyone seen anything strong like the high steer arms that are flat or have the normal drop? I guess I could get some made up but would be bloody expensive

Re: Toyota Steering Arms
Is this off road only or need to be road legal, affects what you can do.

Re: Toyota Steering Arms
Time it is road legal at the moment and I would prefer it stayed that way as makes things logistically easier

Re: Toyota Steering Arms
Hi Tim,
Forgot if I rung you or not, heard back from LowRange, he can't get any blanks, said has been trying to get some for a year but the supplier won't sell. Will look at other options.
Can they be flat or do they need to be dropped.
If it was just for off road could just weld some up.
Cheers

Re: Toyota Steering Arms
I've made a few flat ones now, its pretty cheap to do as its only one re-mount per arm to do the tie rod surface and hole
You should be looking 3hundy nothing more depends on the stock you cut them from, personally I prefer mild (pretty certain cert reqments are for mild)

Re: Toyota Steering Arms
Sweet will talk to a couple of machine shops around my area about making some up. Flat will be fine as long as the tie rod can sit underneath, I dont see any problem with that though as long as it can still move through its motion

Yeah, they gonna have to have the same drop as factory arms, so it looks like i'll have to make some
