Post by joeninetynz »

Not having much luck with my friend google, but does anyone know where I can source a set of telescopic sliding rails for a set of draws?

Locally would be nice - Auckland

http://www.fullie.co.nz

This is the seller on trademe. Might as well cut out the middle man. I have purchased from this company and found them easy to deal with.

What sort of drawer project is this? Home joinery or something more substantial?
The slides I got are 1.2mtr long and capable of holding up to 150kg per pair (from memory), if you are just after standard kitchen joinery, all the major hardware stores carry drawer slides. If you are after the telescopic drawer slides ( as the title suggests) these are more specailised. Not sure how you will go getting these is a heavy weight option, and if you can they will be bloody expensive.
I have seen guys make up heavy duty slides using garage door tracks and hardware if that helps.

I have nearly finished a set of drawers for my truck.

Got the slide rails and brackets etc from fullie.co.nz. I got the 45kg ones that are 650 long. I would have liked to get heavier ones but had budget constraints.

What about buying one of those old solid filing cabinets - they have telescopic ones that could be raided.

I've got a three draw cabinet with solid sliders that I'm sell atm
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.
