Wanted : Daihatsu Rugger Gearbox

Hey guys, I'm after a 5 speed gearbox from a 2.8L diesel Daihatsu Rugger/Delta.

If anyone knows of someone or a wrecker that might have one available around the Manawatu area that would be awesome.

Will also consider others around the country due to freight costs.

I know where one is, how much are you prepared to pay? It's in Northland but can arrange freight for you.

I have no idea how much they are worth to be honest.

My box was losing second gear which pointed me to the nut at the end of the mainshaft coming loose. After removing the transfer case, I can see that the shaft itself has split quite badly.

I think it would be easier to source another box while I fix my original one and then keep it as a spare.

I'll have a ring around the Palmy wreckers tomorrow and see what I can find. If nothing crops up, then I could be keen on your gearbox. How much would you be asking and what condition is it in?

Not sure how much the guy wants for it but I will get back to you when I find out. I'm getting the motor it's attached to so the 'box should be for sale too. It's been sitting in a paddock for a while so looks a bit manky on the outside but the inside should still be good.

Ok cheers for that. Can you find out how many k's the motor/box has done at all?

Not sure on k's but he reckoned it was bugger all.

Hey bud, how did you get on?

Spent most of the day separating the gearbox and motor, it was bloody well stuck on there! Will see if I can get out there again this weekend to have a proper look at it. I had a bit of a chat to him about it and apparently it was a pretty good truck and everything worked sweet until his son put a hole in the fuel tank, after that it was left to rot in the paddock.

Ok. There should be an identification plate on top of the gearbox bellhousing. Are you able to get the info off it at all? Any idea how long it's been parked up?

I've rung around all the wreckers and no one has a box for these at all. Even the Daihatsu wreckers in Auckland don't have anything!
