Federal Mud Tyres

Post by Chewy69a »

Has anyone got a set of the Federal Couriga MT's on their truck?

I'm looking at a set of 33's for my safari.

I've had a great run out of my Goodyear Wrangler MT's, must have done 50,000k's on them I reckon.

Can anyone comment on how the Federals wear?

Where I don't do a heck of a lot of road K's I do use the truck as my stockcar tow wagon and don't want them to wear out in 2 secconds.

Dont have them personally but if I was to go to a MT instead of my Silverstones Id go with them, they seem to clear great in the mud. Nice wide open thread pattern. Cant comment on road kms though sorry. They come on special at a good price too.

I have a set on weapon, and my bro,Toyoda has a set of 33's on his SWB GQ.

Good tyres, I would highly recommend them to anyone, good aggressive pattern, quiet on the road, and have worn really well on the GQ. He did a big Sth Is road trip on them, and I have been thrashing the set on Weapon for years and they have only slightly rounded edges.

The other M/T tyre I really like at the moment is the Maxxis Bighorn MT762. A bit less aggressive in the center strip than the Couragia, but they are wearing well on a couple of mates trucks that are daily drivers.

Thanks guys for your comments,

I'm going to have a set fitted this Saturday as been quoted a very good price which is the swaying factor.

I guess I'll find out how they perform and wear soon enough!

Cheers.

depends on how many of the 30"s they sell

31" has got to be the most common size tyre used on 4wds in the country
just about every bloody hilux you see has a set of 31's on it which in turn allows them to offer them at a better price because they are imported in larger numbers

And keithals right, often 31s or 33s will be cheaper than 30s etc.
