My Terrano

Hi everyone,
So after reading most of the posts to do with the TD27T Terranos i decided to start to do some work. I have only had this car for about 5 months now.
Basic things first,
New water pump, radiator, fully flushed out block.
Transmission Cooler. Boost gauge, and Water Temp Gauge.

New turbo off the QD32 engine, Removed EGR.
I have ordered an oil catch can and everything to make a custom intake.
I have started hunting down an intercooler but have not found one yet.

Water Temperature adapter, I wanted an aftermarket Saas water temperature gauge and did not have anywhere to put the sender.

Turbo appears to be a stock one in pics? qd32 compressor pipes are usually moulded rather than flanged ?

Would be a good scheme to fit in a EGT gauge if you planning on tweaking fuel for more power. Or even if you drive it hard, tow etc

Fan switch for a radiator fan, just looking at this for another project.

TD27s have a viscous clutch fan, and i have no room to fit an electric fan as there is the radiator, air conditioning condenser, and transmission cooler.
Mine runs cool all the time even when high revving through soft sand.

But if you did want to, you could hammer off the fan clutch, cut the shroud and get twin thermo fans. Then just buy a thermo fan controller, you can get ones with just a relay and a temperature sensor which turns it on when needed. Or if you wanted to spend a bit more you can get electronic controllers like this

I couldn't really have my car of the road for long so i found one with the same flanges, I was planning on installing an EGT gauge but didn't have enough money at the time.
It goes pretty good at the moment for a 2.7l diesel, goes through soft sand fine even with standard AT tyres

Just a suggestion, disconnect that red hose from the intake and put it into a catch can. It will only start making an oily mess of your nice clean turbo, intake, and intercooler when you fit one.

It already has made an oil mess. I have an oil catch can on its way from china. Haven't received it yet, Its a 880ml Dspec one for $32

Just a suggestion, disconnect that red hose from the intake and put it into a catch can.

Or directly into the frame rail, keeps the rust at bay

Made up my 3" intake and installed an oil catch can.
My next step is for a 2.5" Exhaust.
Does anyone know where you can get a larger dump pipe? or will i have to make one?
Also does anyone have a list of lengths and bends for the exhaust?
Just to make it easier, if not after work i'll have to get under it and measure them all.

Hey mate,
I've just about finished a dump pipe for my WD21. Search for my post with the exhaust flange diagram. They can also be bought from Autobend for $50 or so. I'll post some pics in the next few days of the divorced wastegate dump pipe I've built - just needs a few more welds.
If you have a trade contact in the automotive industry that deals with Autobend, you can't beat their 2.5" mandrel bent system for under $600. It's in their 'Rage' catalogue. At retail it's about $800 or so, which you 'might' do cheaper custom for similar end result. Easy to install, though brackets needed some minor adjustments, and tail pipe was a little too close to body causing rub at (shaky) idle and over bumps.
