auto box shaft seal

Post by wildplumdx »

just removed the engine out of a 92 2.5 pajero last night and was wondering if its a good idea since the engines out to replace the seal where the engine shaft goes into the trans box ? i mean it wasn't leaking but while the engines out ?

I'd say if it not leaking then don't remove it as if you do then you could be in for more trouble.. They only get replaced when they leak..

My vote is to change it while you are in there...
Do the trans input seal....And also if that particular engine has rear crankshaft seal issues / leaks do it also....
