25/16 May

Post by Heath »

I'll start this one. I know its early...

Went offroad in my Isuzu today and got stuck in the mud, had to get a loader to pull me out.

Well when I say offroad, what I actually mean was I went into the muddy area at the back of a Fulton hogan yard to dump some sloppy crap out.

And when I say Isuzu, what I really mean is my truck mounted 22 tonne air spade/hydro combination excavating unit.

And when I say stuck, what I mean is one wheel on the rear axle fell into a hole and I lost all drive (bloody truck has double rear axle but one is not driven and no crosslock/difflock so loose traction on one and its all over).

Its true about the loader though, took longer to hook up than to pull out (maybe 1M before I could drive again...)

Playing rescue truck again in Woodhill. Also try out the new in car camera..
And hopefully still have time to mow the lawns !!!
If I leave it any longer I will need a GPS to navigate around the back yard..

i like it, even the fj has grown on me now, hated it at first, somehow dont think the new patrol will ever be something i would want tho. mind you i suspect it will be 10-15 years old before i can afford any of them with nz second hand 4x4 prices!

changed all my oils, lubed drive train on my daily patrol friday, building a new rear wheel carrier/bumper for my safari project sat/sun.

Hooked up the biggest furniture trailers I could hire behind both Safari's which were massive and towed them from whangarei to kaeo then to warkworth. the things we do for family haha. No issues until all unloaded and went to refuel in wellsford and noticed oil on the ground of Curlys old safari after getting the bonnet open I saw the oil line off the back of the alt had burst and the alt belt had snapped (I wondered why the clutch got heavy) haha. Ended up leaving 1trailer at caltex wellsford and line towed the safari and trailer back behind my other safari. Took a while but got home in the end. Today had to go and get the trailer then moved our stuff to our new house...still going haha just waiting for the mrs to arrive to help.

After saying I wasn't using another carby on the chev, I succumbed and bought another quadrajet.
Fitted it today and she starts and runs sweet as :D
Was on a roll, so I fitted a double diaphragm brake booster too.
It Goes. :D It stops. :D Now it f@@@ing leaks coolant from the pipes that run to the rear mounted radiator :(
