8" or 10" Wheels?!?!

Post by karllovesmercedes »

I am after a set of new wheels with a bit of poke.

Done plenty of measuring on my truck and decided on either 15x8 -50mm or 15x10 -25mm. However, looking online it appears that on a 10 inch wide rim with 31x10.5s you risk rolling the bead off extremely easily and can't air down because of this. Apparently 33x12.5 is the same. :?

I only have 31x10.5s at the moment, looking at getting a set of 33s for either only off-road or daily driven. But until I get the 33s, I need to run my 31s on my rims but can't make a decision between these  Can anyone shed any light on this as I can't get anything conclusive for the good old interweb.

Thanks

Do some more research.
The offsets you speak of dont exist.

Tyre shop would be your best avenue ;-)

Hyper Drive NZ offer the Fuel Revolver in 15x10 -25

Summit Racing have an entire stock packed with Pro Comp rims, Pro Comp themselves in 15x8 and 15x10 ranging from 0 to -76 offset

Jegs also has a huge variety of rims, and from them, Black Rock Series 997 wheels come in pretty much any offset including 15x10 -25

Done plenty of research haha, it's how the tyres mount that I am unsure of. Thought I'd ask the forum as you would have had some experience with these rim widths :P

There was a good discussion on whether or not 8" are better than 10" and vice versa, i think the conclusion is that while 10" rims make them look alot nicer, you get far less un beading etc on 8" rims.

All the comp guys i know run 8" and 7" rims, with 33's and 35's.

Ive had no problem with my 33's on 8" rims, drive fine on the road, havnt had them offroad much.

From what i have read i think i would only go 10" if they were beadlock rims

most people running 31's on 10's are you guys which the most offroading they will ever do is ripping up grass in the local car parks. its good you have gone with 8's
