Started the mods the my terrano today, Manual locking hubs and new 15x8 rims with kuhmo KL71 31x10.5xr15. And have still got a body lift and snorkel to install this week. I might have to beef up the front end I think....? Post a few photos of you nissans to get some more ideas!

You shouldn't need a body lift to clear the 31's, then you wont need a cert.
Search 2wd mod for the steering and get an idler arm brace.

definitly do the idler arm brace, even if you dont do anything else.

And in terms of the body lift i would only be doing it if necessary to clear tyres, you get a higher Center of gravity, and have to pay 500 bucks to get it legal. id be saving it for when you do a few things at once like bigger tyres, front modifications (if you do anything major) etc, its alot of messing around for no real gain.

What would be worthwhile however is a diff drop, and a lift, as you get a fair amount of clearance out of terrano's when theyre lifted up (thank nissan for desgning them the way they are )

Good call. Idler brace + 31"s + sensible driving, shouldn't have any dramas.

(Sensible as in not getting one wheel wedged in a rock on full lock and then flooring it)

Not a massive amount, just 2" suspension lift, tyres,rims, EGR Delete, boost increase. Looking at intercooling next

aslong as the springs are captive throughout the range of movement, and there is no modification of the factory mounts you do not need cert.

spring keeping attachments apparently need a cert (from the lvvta website)

You do need a cert if you decide to go for a bodylift however.

Oh that is interesting, I did not know that you could run a suspension lift without a cert, I have a body lift kit ready to put in my truck but I'm abit relucklant to because of the price of a cert... So i was thinking maybe a suspension lift is the way to go? Thoughts on that?

i had 2inch lift springs in the back off mine and just wound up the torisions for the front, looked the part on 31s

what do CERTS cost like a lift Cert any other Cert cost if anyone knows would be interesting nice to know before you do a build

cert cost is a generic $500, I dont know what it cost for a recert though

If you're using it properly off road, You'll easily spend the cost of a cert on broken steering bits and upper balljoints & CV boots if you just twist it up 2" on the cheap. And the alignment will be all horrible..Plus Watch the way a worn out IFS truck behaves off road, tyres cambering in and out and deflecting all over the place.. horrible.

Whereas a bodylift keeps the relative COG lower, more crawl space, and you don't touch the front suspension. Plus working under the truck becomes SO much easier.

My opinion.... Get a fresh WOF and throw the bodylift in, you've already bought it, inexpensive idler brace, and you're away. Then take it out and get some good use out of it, eventually a tie rod will fail, then look at steering upgrades.

Technically you dont need a bodylift or a susp lift to run 31's...
