My Suzuki

Post by mac1948 »

Thanks everyone for your comments on my 1998 Escudo manual which I bought to tow behind my camper bus my first Escudo was a 1991 auto it was Black and was not nice to climb into during summer months however it was a lot more peppy than the new one it had extractors fitted whereas the new one has not I was led to believe the manual was more economical on petrol however I don't find this to be true at all
I bought this on trademe from Tauranga [I live in Auckland] the k`s where pretty low 145000 however I suspect a valve guide problem as its using oil and fuming or it could be oil rings
I am no longer going to use it as a toad but keep it for a run about for now does anyone no whats involved in fixing valve guides etc the rest of the vehicle is good eg recent cambelt, clutch ABS repairs testing station say its a good one

you could pull the head off yourself and drop it into an engine reconditioners, no point in replacing just the buggered one might as well see if the head needs a plane and possibly do a valve grind while your there. Thats what i did to my old trumpy when she was a bit smokey anyway
