Crampons.... The hills are so steep the Snow just slides down in to the Gullys

Heard this morning that they were going to close the Desert road today (ice-snow) can anyone confirm this ?
Its closed at the moment Steve It tends to get closed during the night and early morning... Once the snow plow / sweeper has gone thru they open it again.... Here is the website http://www.nzta.govt.nz/traffic/current ... sland.html We will need to check it out closer to our departure day...

were leaving around 1pm thurs prob stay the night in Taupo then on to Rallywoods Friday morning ,we struck it lucky and managed to rent a house for the weekend in Moonshine rd ,Steve

couldn't of said it any better my first competition was epic i still have the smile. it couldn't of been done without Reece, skid and the marshells well done. i'll put pic's up soonish.

On behalf of the Auck Jafa team i would like to thank Skid,Reece,All the marshals and helpers for a top event ,We had a ball,Excellent tracks and well run ,well worth the drive down .a special thanks to the extreme team who fixed Tonys bent arms after he tore the diff out on one stage without your help it would of been on a trailer heading home ,we will be back next year hopefully with another team .Steve
He would say thanks, but after carrying him to bed because he wouldn't wake up on Saturday night and then getting his foot crushed by 'last minute mike' and his rugby boots last night, he's a little bit worn out and is currently snoring on the couch
