Im running a VX weights in at 2.7 tonnes

I have 2 pintals that I use.

The correct claw type which is rated at 22000lbs which has a 6 tonne lifting rate .

The other one I use to tow the trailer with it is rated at 8000 lbs I think. I only tow trailers with this one but I have towed the odd car with it :)

Pintles have 2 or 3 ratings
Pulling capacity which is rated in the curve of the hook
Load rating which is the weight it supports in the vertical direction
Combinations pintles also have a pulling capacity for top of the ball

Anything over 10,000lbs is widely considered enough for recoveries.
